Meet Your Leaders

Meet Your Leaders

NNSAHC Leadership

Our NNSAHC volunteer leaders are elected by our state adolescent health coordinator peers (you). We meet monthly to connect, compare notes, and plan state-level responses to emerging concerns and opportunities in the field.

The four officers (President-elect, President, Past President, and Secretary) serve three-year terms; members-at-large serve two-year terms. We encourage all SAHCs with 2+ years of tenure in their role to spend some time on this wise-but-irreverent leadership team.

Andra-Jungmeyer

Past-President

Andra Jungmeyer (she, her, hers)

I’m the Adolescent Health Coordinator for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; and an adolescent-at-heart, cis-gendered, single mom from a one-stoplight town in Missouri, where I still reside. I’m raising two intelligent and strong-willed adolescent women. I received my Masters of Public Health and have been working in Adolescent Health for 11 years (77 in dog years). I love working with today’s amazing youth who put my own adolescent self to shame with their intelligence, goals, and advocacy (not to mention their style).

Tiffane Evans (she, her, hers)

As the SAHC in humid Florida, I find deep joy in serving young people. They educate me on the value of holistic health, positive risk taking, and youth voice. I’ve lived in seven Florida cities and honor the Apalachee, Seminole, and Ais tribal lands that I’ve called home. Moving around and hanging with young people (#AmIDoingTheTikTokRight?) has taught me that we all value love, respect, happiness, connection, and good coffee.

With 17 years in health education, I strive to connect dots, break barriers, challenge norms, celebrate victories, and shout good things about teens from the rooftops! When I’m not working, I’m playing music with my boo and playing with my daughter’s Legos.

President-Elect

Jennie Blakney (she, her, hers)

I’m the State Adolescent Health Coordinator at the New Jersey Department of Health. I’m also a sexoloxist, activist, and change agent who has spent 28 years engaging youth in their sexual and reproductive health. I identify as a cis-gender, pansexual white woman, born in Munsee Lenape territory (Newark, New Jersey) and raised in Greenwich Village. I will gladly chain myself to something for a cause. I am a proud mom to an out bi-sexual teen/activist in training and to an adorable cavapoo named Curly.

Angie-Lorenzo

Secretary

Angie Lorenzo (she, her, hers)

I’m the Chief of the Office of Women’s Health at the Arizona Department of Health Services. I’m a coffee enthusiast who loves to bake, a problem-solver, and an Arizona native: Suns will be back!

I am a proud single momma of two: my firstborn is my beautiful, independent, social-justice thinking daughter. My youngest is the cutest mini poodle ever. I love hosting family gatherings, especially the annual tamale-making party at Christmas, yum!

I’ve had the pleasure of working in Adolescent Health for 12 years, improving the services we provide for young people while advocating for youth voice.

Michaela-Jennings

Member-at-Large

Michaela Jennings (she, her, hers)

As the Program Manager for Nebraska’s Adolescent Health program, I’ve provided guidance and leadership on best practices for youth-serving professionals for nearly nine years.

A collector of eclectic experiences, I was born and raised in many places across Omaha, Pawnee, and Sioux tribal lands (Northeast and Central Nebraska), explored other states, and anchored in Otoe-Missouria territory (Lincoln, NE). I earnestly juggle the roles of professional, mom of a self-proclaimed “nerd” son, DIY-dreamer homeowner, partner, friend, community advocate, and elementary PTA treasurer.

Member-at-Large

I live, work, and play with gratitude on the unceded lands of the Nichiłt’ana, now known as Homer, Alaska. I’ve worked with the Division of Public Health since 2010. I’m the fan club director of a vibrant 4-year old named Mackenzie, the partner of a hard-working, good-cooking, and often-traveling, computer geek named Tom.

In my spare time (LOL), I’m an apartment manager, jump in cold lakes on full moons, bike, play music, skate, hike, snowboard, bake, and garden. In my past lives I was in a B-52s tribute band, a blocker for the Rage City Rollergirls, a solo musician, and an outdoor recreation director. I love February, when it’s so cold that ice crystals hover in the air and you feel like you are in a snow globe.
