The CoP call format provided an opportunity for state participants to share and learn from each other around how you influence, guide and use youth risk and resiliency surveys. Participants provided information in advance of the call on the types of youth surveys used in their state/territory and their involvement with surveys in use. The following summary documents provide information about participants’ experiences with state youth risk and resiliency surveys, links to surveys and resources shared on the call, as well as examples from states on the call sharing protective factor questions on their YRBS and other state youth surveys.

The CoP call format provided an informal way to connect AHCs around the topic of improving adolescent’s experiences with health care (and the wide variety of related strategies). Tessa Medina-Lucero, New Mexico Adolescent Health Coordinator kicked off the discussion by sharing a new health literacy toolkit that prepares young people to interact with health care providers and settings. The call format then opened up for discussion among participants on other strategies they are using or want to use to improve adolescents’ experiences with health care.
